
Developing Workforce Development and Youth Training
OOC is encouraging, training, and exposing the potential workforce to the blue food economy, while making it a viable career pathway for Coastal residents.
5-year Goal
Twenty high school programs deliver blue food training programs to 1000 students annually.
Activities
Assess what training programs are in existence and identify how to integrate blue food training.
Where gaps are identified, pilot programs that demonstrate successful strategies and then pass them to the appropriate institutions to run.
Expand the Seafood Butchery Program to reach schools along the Oregon Coast and expand to inland regions.
Identify and develop community education pilots in partnership with a community college.
